CKT Mihila one of the factories of the group was awarded the CarbonNeutral® Certification in 2012, thus making them the first apparel plant in Asia to achieve this accolade. The process required a detailed GHG assessment, which followed the Carbon Disclosure Project, Carbon Neutral Protocol and the WBCSD/WRI GHG Protocol, a comprehensive programme of internal efficiency measures and a purchase of carbon credits to offset the remaining emissions. All three scopes were taken into consideration and the emissions sources that were considered are, waste disposal and transportation, foreign business travel, purchased electiricity, onsite energy and third-party deliveries to name a few. CKT Mihila have been offsetting their carbon footprint for the past 7 years, which shows how important being sustainable is, to them.
