South Asia’s First CarbonNeutral® Certified city hotel, Colombo Court Hotel and Spa has set the bar high when it comes to being sustainable when they took the initiative of becoming a Carbon Neutral hotel in 2014 with the help of CCC. Following a GHG assessment, they purchased carbon credits to support a verified renewable energy project to offset their emissions. Colombo Court provides luxurious accommodation, dining and spa facilities while keeping sustainability as its core value. CCC conducted a comprehensive assessment considering all three Scopes, in accordance with the GHG Protocol, developed by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Carbon Disclosure Project. Emission sources such as generation of imported energy carriers such as electricity, heat and steam, and business travel, waste disposal and outsourced activities were quantified in this assessment
