The leading provider of leasing services in Sri Lanka, with customers ranging from individuals to blue chip conglomerates, PLC recognised the increasing consumer demand for green products and services globally and obtained the CarbonNeutral® Company Certification by Natural Capital Partners, through their regional partner of The Sustainable Future Group. The comprehensive Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Assessment by CCC was done for the Head Office, 105 branches, 5 Service Centres and 5 wholly owned subsidiaries. This assessment was based on the WBCSD/WRI GHG Protocol with all three Scopes being considered as per this globally recognised GHG accounting standard. A few of the emissions sources that were looked at during this assessment were Purchased Electricity, On-site Energy Generation, Third-party Deliveries and Company owned and Controlled vehicles. This was a milestone in PLC’s sustainability journey to reduce its operational impact on the environment.
