On this World Food Day, please take a moment to understand the actual environmental impact of the entire process of getting food from the 'paddock to your plate', also known as "Food Miles". Food Miles generally include;

- Raw Material Sourcing
- Manufacturing
- Storage/Packaging
- Transportation/Distribution
- Retail/Restaurants
- Wastage

An estimated 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted globally each year, one-third of all food produced for human consumption, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

Let's all be more conscious of our consumption of food, and avoid/reduce wastage towards preserving our resources for future generations.
