Knowledge Repository   The Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa - Energy audit

Based on Faruna Island in the Maldives, the hotel’s main cost is to provide energy to the island and therefore CCC was called to conduct a detailed waste audit of the hotel as a part of the hotels energy reduction strategy in order for them to reduce costs. The CCC Team carried out a detailed energy audit of the hotel operations, and presented a comprehensive report detailing the hotel’s energy balance, highlighting key areas of inefficiency and provided suggested solutions for energy reduction measures. The report also evaluated the hotel’s energy consumption pattern, its energy management / accounting practices, the daily load profile and provided a detailed list of opportunities for Energy Performance Indicator improvement. A complete Greenhouse Gas assessment was carried encompassing Scope 1, 2 & 3 Emissions. The highest emission sources were identified and linked to energy reduction measures. A comprehensive water audit was carried out, with a calculation of the cost of water being done at the same time. The potential of saving over 25,000 liters of water each day were identified and evaluated.
