However, a darker side of plastics has revealed itself in the form of Plastic Pollution, which has become one of the most pressing global environmental issues today.

More than 99% of all plastics are produced from chemicals derived from harmful, non-renewable sources (oil, natural gas & coal), and over half of it is designed to be used only once. Many plastic products such as bags and food wrappers have a lifespan of mere minutes to hours, yet they may persist in the environment for hundreds of years.
