CCC conducted GHG Assessments for three main offices and ten branches of NTB, one of Sri Lanka’s leading banks. The assessments were conducted in compliance with the GHG Protocol developed by the World Resources Institute and World Business Council for Sustainable Development. For NTB’s main offices, all three Scopes were taken into consideration, and the bank was able to renew its commitment to sustainability by obtaining the CarbonConscious® Certification in 2015. This is a three-year engagement where comprehensive GHG assessments are undertaken with customised mitigation and Carbon Management Plans are provided to minimise carbon emissions. Furthermore Carbon Footprint calculations were done for 10 branches since 2018, showing NTB’s commitment to sustainability. NTB’s sustainable achievements were communicated through PR articles that were published in many of the local newspapers, thereby communicating their sustainable initiatives and goals to potential clients and stakeholders.
