Knowledge Repository   Gili Lankanfushi - Water, Waste and Energy audit

Gili Lankanfushi is widely considered to be the top resort in the Maldives, and for good reason. This stunning, 45-villa, eco-friendly resort just a 20-minute speedboat ride from the airport succeeds in delivering truly unpretentious, relaxed luxury. To further reduce their costs and focus more on sustainability, they retained CCC to conduct a Water, Waste and Energy audit. Detailed reports. The Waste Audit highlights ways to maximise efficiency of material utilisation to reduce waste generation, identify means of reusing waste and implementing measures for proper disposal. The Water Audit highlights areas of inefficient water and usage and recommendations that were given to Gili Lankanfushi have saved them an amount of 19,506.69 m3, which is almost 30% of their total water consumption, and an annual cost saving of USD 20,606.27. The Energy Audit focuses on Energy reduction methods and Gili Lankanfushi has maintained a satisfactory level of energy efficiency. The findings of this Audit revealed that an estimated 15% saving could be achieved by implementing the energy efficiency measures identified, which is approximately equivalent to a financial saving of USD 285,942 per annum. Therefore, due to the comprehensive assessments done by the CCC team, Gili Lankanfushi was able to reduce their costs and develop a Social Environmental Awareness and Sustainability Policy
