CCC worked with the Star Garments Group (a Komar company), which specialises in apparel sourcing, design and manufacturing, to assess the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions of its 14 facilities located in Sri Lanka. The group was subsequently certified as carbon neutral and is the first and only group of companies in the global apparel sector to achieve this status.
(sustainability commitment of this magnitude is why STAR claims to be the largest carbon-neutral company in Sri Lanka, and the only one in the apparel sector to have its 14 facilities assessed and certified ).
The comprehensive GHG Assessment followed the guidelines of the internationally-recognised GHG Protocol and is compliant with the Carbon Disclosure Project. Following the assessment, our expert team also worked with Star Garments for their Sustainability Strategy, Reporting and Branding, in addition to also developing communication materials to publicise the benefits from their sustainability initiatives.
